Description: The Wirehaired Vizsla is a versatile, natural hunter
endowed with an excellent nose and an above average trainability.
History: The Wirehaired Vizsla is a completely separate breed from its
more commonly seen smooth-coated cousin. The Wirehaired Vizsla was
developed in the 1930s, initially by Vasas Jozsef.
Temperament: The Wirehaired Vizsla is a lively, gentle mannered,
demonstrably affectionate and sensitive dog breed, they are also
fearless and possessed of a well-developed protective instinct.
Height: Male Dogs 22-25 inches. Female Dogs 21-24 inches.
Weight: Male Dogs 45-60 pounds. Female Dogs 40-55 pounds.
Health Problems: The Wirehaired Vizsla can be prone to hip dysplasia.
Living Condition: In general you can expect a Wirehaired Vizsla dog to
do well in just about any size apartment or home but regular exercise is
required.
Exercise Required: A Wirehaired Vizsla is full of energy and requires
regular exercise. An adequate fenced yard or land where the Wirehaired
Vizsla can run and play is strongly suggested.
