Description: The White Shepherd dog looks like the German Shepherd dog
except for the white coloring. As the names suggests these dogs are
always White.
History: In German Shepherd Dogs the recessive gene for white coat hair
was cast in the breed gene pool by the late 19th and early 20th century
breeding program that developed and expanded the German Shepherd Dog
breed in Germany. A white herding dog named Greif was the grandfather of
Horand von Grafrath, the dog acknowledged as the foundation of all
contemporary German Shepherd Dog bloodlines.
Temperament: White Shepherd Dogs are courageous, alert and fearless.
Cheerful, obedient and eager to learn new tricks or training methods.
Confident, serious and clever. White Shepherd Dogs are extremely
faithful, and brave.
Height: Male Dogs: 23 to 26 inches. Female Dogs: 21 to 24 inches. On
average
Weight: 74 to 87 pounds on average.
Health Problems: The White Shepherd dog can suffer from hip and elbow
dysplasia. Bloat, Allergies and other coat and skin problems. As with

determining the length of life and whether there will be any genetic
problems as the puppy gets older.
Living Condition: The White Shepherd dog can adjust to apartment or
condo living providing you get your puppy or dog enough exercise with
