What To Dog If Your Yorkie Is Crying

The first night home with your new Yorkie puppy can be a trying experience for both you and your Yorkie. It's the first time your puppy has spent the night away from his mother and littermates. Because Yorkie puppies are used to their pack they know they are being separated from their mother and siblings. Be prepared for the first night of your Yorkie arrival and you and your family will make the most of it.

Take up any food or water after dinner time to make sure your Yorkie puppy is running on empty when it's time to sleep. Otherwise, you'll be making trips to the bathroom all night, or worse, your Yorkie puppy will eliminate in the house. Not that this even needs to said with the family so excited. Shortly before you go to bed, spend some time playing with your Yorkie puppy. You want him/her to be tired enough to sleep soundly. Don't let your puppy nap before your bed time or you will be playing during this time since the puppy will be all awake and ready.

Just before bed, take your Yorkie puppy outside to his soiling area and wait for him to go. When he does go provide him/her with some love and bring him/her back inside. This reinforces good behavior and begins the house training process. If and when your Yorkie puppy starts crying at night, you need to decide if he has to go to the bathroom or if he's looking for attention. If your puppy has been quiet through out the night and then suddenly starts to cry then he/she might need to go out once more. Yorkie puppies have small bladders so this definitely might happen.

Usually a 2 month old Yorkie puppy can hold it in for 3 hours so you might want to take your baby outside twice through out the night. Sometimes even after taking the puppy outside he/she might still cry for need of attention, don't take the Yorkie puppy out but try and soothe by letting your puppy smell your hand.

Don't get into the cuddle method or else your puppy will never learn the crate process and will cry even more. If this does not work then a usual "Be Quiet" can sometimes help. Might sound tough but eventually your Yorkie puppy will learn the correct way. Usually it takes a couple of nights before your puppy understand that this is the way it goes and the crying stops. What ever you feel do not fall into the puppy eyes and puppy cries!

Your Yorkie puppy will learn to respect you and the home rules this way. Do not give into the cuddle in bed with me and don't cry move. Give it sometime and you will see that it will go away.

In the morning make sure the first thing you do is take your Yorkie outside. It will be time for your puppy to release herself/himself holding it in over night. Grab some treats and make sure your love mood is on. Once your Yorkie goes, explode with the petting, baby talk and treats. Keep it up and watch your Yorkie puppy be trained in no time.
