When an initial claim is made, requiring the medical history of your dog, Trupanion will take less than 7 days to process the information and get your check on its way. Most subsequent claims are paid in less than 1 day. If there is a delay because your dog’s medical records have not been received, Trupanion Dog Insurance will notify you of your claim’s status.

For a healthy, young male dog, the Trupanion Dog Insurance policy, with a $50 deductible, would cost $38.32 per month. A $500 deductible would cost $28.40 on a monthly basis, and the $1,000 deductible would reduce the cost to $19.56 per month. An optional hip dysplasia rider can be added to the policy.
