1. Place pad in an area that is easily accessible to your dog at all times, but away from its sleeping and eating areas.
2. Introduce dog to pad to allow it to become accustomed to the pad’s special scent.
3. If you don’t catch your dog in the act of making a mistake, do not punish it after the fact. Praise and reward the dog when it eliminates on the pad.
4. When the dog is using the pads properly on a regular basis, move the pads closer to your outside door, eventually moving the pad outdoors and eliminating the inside pads.

- Select an area where the puppy stays that is away from its food and bed and is large enough to accommodate the Fresh ’N Clean Floor Protection Pad.
- Unfold and place the pad on the floor with with plastic side down, the white absorbent side up.
- Dispose of a soiled pad by lifting one corner at a time towards the center of the pad. When you have lifted all four corners, slightly twist and place in a garbage bag.
- Place puppy on the pad to begin the training process. The puppy will immediately smell the scientifically treated pad Make sure the puppy relieves itself and positively reward the behavior.
- Keep the pad on the floor throughout the training process so the puppy will know where to go.
- If the puppy relieves itself elsewhere, bring it back to the pad as soon as possible to positively reinforce the desired behavior.
- If you would like to train the puppy to relieve itself outdoors, gradually move the pad closer to the door and eventually outdoors.
- Once the puppy is familiar with relieving itself outdoors on the pad, gradually reduce the area of the pad by folding it in half, then into quarters. Soon, the puppy will relieve itself outdoors without the pad.
Puppy Pad Directions for Nature's Miracle Pads
- Unfold pad and place on the floor in the desired area with the white side up and the green plastic side down. The area should be available to pet at all times, but also be away from dog’s bedding or food.
- Place pet on the pad so that it can smell the pad’s revolutionary grass scent formula. During the training process, continue to bring pet to the pad several times a day, especially upon waking, easting, drinking, playing, and before going to sleep. When nature calls, the dog will be attracted to the pad’s special combination of scents, and will eliminate on the pad.
- Use positive reinforcement and reward pet when it eliminates on the pad. If dog wets some place other than the pad, bring the dog back to the pad as soon as possible to reinforce that this is where it should eliminate.
- Pay attention to signs that pet needs to go. These signs include sniffing the floor, circling, and starting to squat.
- When dog eliminates on the pad, quickly tie up the pad with the built-in disposal ties, and throw pad away. Simply place a fresh pad down. Cleanup could not be easier!
- When dog is trained to eliminate on the pad, teach pet to relive itself outside by gradually moving the pad towards the door and eventually outside to the area where you would like pet to go. The pad’s familiar grass scent will speed up this process.
- Expect and prepare for accidents. It’s important to remove all traces of resulting odors, or they will stimulate pet to go in the same spot.
